5:30 The Final Danny Bonaduce Broadcast and Dany opens up with a line from Huey Lewis and The News “This is It” song line. Danny then tries to get Gibbons to play the Huey Lewis hook which fails. After multiple attempts, Gibbons finally starts getting a bunch of the audio to play which Danny asked him to do moments before the show.
5:35 The crew then go onto to riff off songs with “goodbye” themes to say farewell to the listeners at least for 94 WYSP.
5:40 Danny teases the possibility of The Danny Bonaduce Show and CBS will be moving his show up or down the dial leading to believe the show will still be on the air in Philadelphia after Labor Day Weekend.
5:45 Jay wants to thank Danny for everything including The Partridge Family and said won’t listen to another station in Philly
5:47 Sean is going to miss the show and said his funniest time hearing the show was when Neil Patrick Harris tried to imitate Danny
5:49 Jessie in PA suggests a goodbye song “Goodbye to Romance” from Ozzy, but the computer won’t work for Gibbons again.
5:51 A caller calls in to sing the Na Na Na, Hey Hey, Goodbye song which then has Sarah and Gibbons trying to sing Boyz to Men “Yesterday”.
5:53 Danny runs down the phone lines to say goodbye to a bunch of listeners.

6:00 The show asks previous WYSP contest winners and share their winning stories.

6:08 Mike thanks the show for winning Renascence Fair passes and for Danny and Sarah joining his jousting team. Coming in 4th out of a ton of teams was an awesome experience.
6:12 this year’s Harley Days of May Winner, Kevin, checks in
6:14 Mike won a 94 WYSP satin jacket about 30 years ago that all the YSP DJ’s used to wear which takes Danny down memory lane.

6:24 Alex in Monroeville wants to hear the audio again of Danny trying to ski and do a huge jump. Danny is still a little messed up from it because he landed so hard on his back. One of his most hated stunts he ever tried.
6:40 Danny asks if there was anyone out there where his Life Coach advice really came through. He wants everyone to know that Life Coach wasn’t a radio bit and he really wants to try and help people have a better life.
6:42 Jim calls in to say thanks for saving his marriage.
6:44 Tommy D will be forever in debt to Danny for helping him to get clean fro drug abuse.

7:05 Danny starts talking and playing back audio for when he was ready to propose to Amy, nut not without a pre-nup
7:30 A female has called in thinking she is being watched by thousands of cameras. She doesn’t know where to begin, but Danny suspects she actually might be a little crazy and paranoid. Danny says she should see a doctor and get medicated.
7:40 Anonymous male thinks his wife might be going towards the crazy side due to stress or some kind of disorder. Danny says to take her to the doctor before it gets worse and it’s most likely related to stress. It’s treatable, but don’t let it get to be too late to fix.
7:44 Female wants a raise or promotion cause she does more then what the company asks for, but her job won’t give a raise or promotion because she’s over qualified. Should she goto HR? Danny said yes, thats what HR is for, but at the same time he’s telling her that if she’s over qualified, she deserves a better job. Keep her current job, while looking for another one, and if she finds something, ket her current job know which might force them to give her a raise out of desperation.
7:48 Male caller wants to know the best way to get over a divorce since he’s devastate. Danny simply says he just has to wait it out. Time heals all wounds and another woman will come along eventually. Stay strong.

8:00 Brett Michaels of Poison calls in live to talk about the current tour and wish Danny the best in his next adventures.
8:06 Momma Gibbons call in to say farewell which is hard to say because she’s crying. Danny then goes on to praise her for a job well done on raising Gibbons. Danny knows Gibbons has a great future ahead of him because there’s nothing he won’t do for this show.
8:12 Danny then starts to get Gibbons to stop crying who hasn’t stopped since his mom called in because the reality of the show coming to end is starting to sink in. Danny said he meant everything he’s ever said. It will get better.
8:31 Andy Bloom called Danny during the commercial break to wish him well. Danny says that Gibbons can aspire to be Andy Bloom cause he has the work ethic.
8:33 Jim wants to ask Danny if he still wants to come over to Jersey to try out his progressional wrestling gig again. Amy, who just entered the studio, said absolutely not. Danny said that was just another great perc of the job when he had a chance to be in a wrestling match.
8:35 Danny continues to go on to say his farewells, thanks you, and possible things to happen in the future.
8:43 Andy Bloom calls into wrap things up by saying what exactly the Danny Bonaduce show means to him and Philadelphia.

Wow…what can I say that hasn’t already been said? I can’t thank all of you enough for being who you are and given us all a GREAT SHOW!!! Andy Bloom’s call was great to hear and I hope he finds a way to keep you and the crew here in Philly. And even though he talked about the demand for you elsewhere, I say KEEP THE DANNY BONADUCE SHOW IN PHILLY and simulcast the show. Just like Stern revived WYSP so did Danny! And we all know how successful simulcasting Stern’s show was…who knows how successful Danny’s show could be unless you try, GO FOR IT!!! And will someone please give Mama Gibbons a hug, what a moving call. I can say good luck to all of you, but not goodbye!!! This show will go on and I can’t wait to find out where??? Hear ya soon!!!!

August 28, 2011 7:19 pm
I think it stinks when a REALLY good station decides to quit on its listeners like WYSP has done! Now I have no radio station to listen to and bring a laugh to my otherwise quite ride into work!! Without Danny and his wonderful crew radio has now become a bore. Hope WYSP sinks do to their BIG mistake!!

Man. What the hell. Is wysp crazy. This was the best radio station ever. I am literally not switching over to 93.3 they blow. No music just talk. I enjoyed everyday I got to listen to wysp an they have gotten me through many long days at work. Danny hasn’t even reached his million handshake yet.wtf

EXTREMELY upset about the new WYSP lineup. This morning’s show was horrid. Looks like I am listening to CD’s in the morning on my way to work now. Good going WYSP, add me to the list of listeners you have LOST. Wherever Danny ends up, that’s where me and my family will be listening.

August 29, 2011 6:51 pm
Tonya, WYSP is flipping to WIP’s all sports programming this Friday at 3pm. Danny is on vacation this week and his last show was Friday. We are celebrating the station’s 40 year history this week.

I’m very upset that 94 WYSP is ending. I’m going to miss listening to the great music you played and I’m gonna miss listening to Danny’s show every morning. I haven’t listened much over the summer because I’m a crossing guard….during the school year I was listening to Danny every morning give out great advice and was fun to listen to. Next Tuesday 9/6 when I’m back on my post I’m going to be totally lost not having you to listen to Danny. This really sucks! Good luck to everyone in their future and getting a new job. 94WYSP was thee best station ever!

I am so upset!! I listened EVERY morning, on my way into work, and you are the BEST DANNY!! You are missed already, and I am hoping that I will hear that you’re back on the air soon. You come across as a great, down-to-earth person, who is sincere, and we need you on the air. So in closing I want to thank you for being such a big personality who made such a difference to your fans, love you — best of luck to you, God bless.

Not many people in radio are as real and sincere as you, Danny Bonaduce. Sometimes you pissed me off, sometimes you made me laugh til I cried, and sometimes you just made me cry , with some of your heartfelt advice as Life Coach. (I’m bummed I never got to call in with my unique question.) But always, you were yourself. And who you are is a truly sweet guy. A kick ass attitude but with a tender heart of gold. My favorite kind of dude.
Wish you well in all you do.
Amy

Danny, you will be missed in my house. My husband listened on the way to work and me and my 14 year old son listened when I drove him to school (though I did turn you off occasionally when you talked about things that were kind of awkward with my son!). YSP was a Philly icon for years, can’t believe it’s going. I hope some other station is smart enough to grab you up, and quick! Good luck!

No bonaduce no ysp. Turned it on on my way home from work expecting to hear the duce but nO it’s some guy with a smooth jazz voice. Worst mOve ever, there going to lose ratings over this. DANNY I WILL LISTEN TO WHAT EVER STATION YOUR ON! oh and CBS and any Philly station has blOcked broadcasting to tune in radio app. Garbage. I hope this is a good move because you lost me as a listener to your station. Good times!

This is absolutely ridiculous……I have nothing to listen to in the car anymore! I am 41 years old and literally have never know life without YSP…When all of the idiots in high school were listening to Debbie Gibson or Paula Abdul, I was rocking out with WYSP..This station will certainly be missed. I honestly don’t know what I am going to do now. Thanks for all of the great memories. I will miss you most of all Danny B. My ride to work will not be the same without you.

I don’t know if anyone of any importance will read this, (But I know the fans will) but if you do, please PLEASE bring this show back. It was the best thing on radio right now. I don’t know why the powers that be thought to get rid of it. 94 WYSP, you disappoint me

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it ! Leave well enough alone! You took the only station i liked and now have ruined it. I no longer have a radio station i like. In fact this station is now the worst station out of all the others! WHY!!!!!!!!! You think you’re going to make more money by talking about sports all day long? There’s enough of that on t.v! Not everyone likes sports. The 30% that do, don’t represent the entire population! That’s all you ever hear about- SPORTS, SPORTS, SPORTS, SPORTS, SPORTS!!!!! I’M SICK OF IT! All of the players are way over paid anyway, for playing a recreational sport. Half of them can’t even speak clear English & would be robbing peoples houses if they weren’t playing sports, but instead are making $100 million because of the media. There’s something wrong with this picture! Sports are dragged out & BOOOORING!!!!!!!! Anyway, back to the original station. The music they played was decent and The Danny Bonaduce Show bridged the gap between the city, the suburbs & the locals. It brought people together- which Philadelphia needed. Thanks for ruining a good thing WYIP!

In response to l. carleton “if it aint broke dont fix it” the problem here is 610 wip is getting there ass handed to them from 97.5 the fanatic and so there is whats broken. Sots may have just cut off his nose to spite his face. I personally don’t think fm waves will improve the numbers enough for the long run until they get rid of boring Cataldi show in the mornings. At least Eskin realized he was done and did the proper thing by announcing his retirement why he still had some dignity left. You mean to tell me with all the fm stations cbs owns wysp was the least valuable to them. Something tells me others would have made better sense. Now if Sots has any marbles then lets see him drop Dabella and put Bonaduce on there and integrate Wysp content into WMGK. Come on Sots get it together.

It was something I woke up early just to listen to it in the morning. I am really bummed out. I hope the show stays in philly so I can continue to listen.:(

I am SO annoyed. How could they take Danny away? There’s a bunch of people out here who don’t give a crap about sports. Serious error. I can’t listen to Cataldi; he grates on my nerves. Where’s Danny? Has anything been announced? This sucks.

I’ve only been in Philly a few years but the whole time I’ve been here this was the only station I listened to. It got me going in the mornings on the way to work and helped me through my day. I miss you guys and hope like hell that you get on a another staion quick, preferably (spelling) all of you.
